Dear Diet

Dear Diet,

The last couple of weeks have been fun getting to know you.  Although we didn’t really know much about each other beforehand, your bio and your pictures were intriguing to me and a few of my friends speak very highly of you.  However before we get too far down the road in our relationship, there are a few things I wanted to discuss with you.

First off, I’m 45 years old and looking for someone who is balanced, and easy to commit to. Someone that will grow with me, have fun with my friends and family on holidays and at parties. I want someone who will make me proud and keep me feeling young and vibrant for many years.

Second, the last few diets I dated didn’t last very long.  They seemed great at first but each one let me down.  Turns out, they were just fads in my opinion and not life partners.

I met Keto for 2 weeks and he had trouble committing. We went on a few dinner dates but once the weekend came, he was nowhere to be found.   His online profile looked really good but I didn’t get it. He never showed me his best side, like ever! I guess we weren’t very compatible.

Paleo and I were on and off for about two years back in my late 30’s. The first time was amazing.  I never felt so good and I couldn’t keep my pants on!  But he only lasted 30 days and then left in a hurry. We tried dating again many times but each time was less and less fun. I think our rebounds lasted 2 weeks, and then I kicked him out.  He made me so anxious and embarrassed. My family didn’t like him either.

There have been others in the past, but none of them stuck around long enough to even be remembered.  I realize I’m half of the relationship and some of the issues we my fault but I don’t want a fair-weather friend, so if that’s you, we should probably move on and part ways.

I’m looking for a partner to be with me for the rest of my life.  I’m not sure yet if you are really “The One” for me…I guess time will tell.  In the meantime, thanks for listening.   I’ll see you at dinner tonight.

Signed,

Me
